Step by step instructions for drawing dragon eyes

1.Start by drawing a long curved line to outline the top of the eye.

2. Draw another long curved line meeting the first one at each end to outline the shape of the eye. Notice the curve of the line as it forms a rounded point; how it gives the eye an almost rectangular appearance.

3. Draw a curved line up from the corner of the eye. Draw another line from the eye to meet it at a steep angle. This forms a scale along the ridge of the dragon's eye. From the first scale, draw another curved line and circle it, drawing another line from the eye. Repeat this process a third time, forming a third scale.

4. From the corner of the eye, draw a curved line downward. From this point, draw a series of short curved lines that meet at irregular points. Follow the contour of the eye and connect the last line to the eye at the opposite corner. This forms the eyelids under the eye.

5. Apply two curved triangular shapes overlapping the back of the eye. They represent the extra scales.

6. Draw a large circle inside the eye, forming the pupil of the dragon.

7. Draw two curved lines inside the pupil, enclosing a narrow curved triangle and forming a serpentine slit.

8. Draw short curved lines joined at irregular points, as well as separate short lines above and below the eye. This offers additional texture.

9. Draw a series of lines parallel to the bottom of the eye, forming the waterline of the eye. Then inside the pupil, draw short lines emanating from the slit.

10. Paint your dragon's eyes.
